1. What problems did you overcome during this project and how?
I had to make everything seem like it actually belonged in the picture. It was hard to make everything seem unified and completely work out all the problems. I had to spend a lot of time readjusting colors, smoothing things out, and working with the background. Specifically I had a lot of trouble with shadows. In Frog Tongue I struggled to make the frog drop a shadow that didn't look out of place. For the New Animal project I had to completely redraw the shadow. It turned out alright but you can clearly tell that I used the clone tool due to the repeated pattern at the top. 2. If you could change anything about the piece what would you do? I would try to make the shark head an turtle shell fit in more. The turtle shell and shark head aren't quite at the right angle and look a bit odd. The shark head also isn't quite the right color. I spent a lot of time trying to adjust it but I just couldn't get it right. 3. Explain your animal? What is their name / species? How did you come up with this idea? My animal has the body and horn of a rhino, the head of a shark, and the shell of a turtle. It's called the Tursharko. I started with the idea of combining a Rhino and Shark because I thought they would look good together. I then wanted something different about the body. Originally I had a shark fin there but I didn't like how it looked. I decided to add a turtle shell.
