This week we learned all about space. I learned how to shade, use blank space, and even draw using perspective. Before I didn't really know that much about perspective and shading and really had no idea how to do it.
My favorite exercise of the week was the one where we had to draw something then shade it. I drew a ball of paper that I had crumpled up. I didn't know that much about shading so this activity made me realize that I really enjoyed it. You can see a picture of my piece below.
I created a mountain range using three different types of materials. For inspiration I looked up similar pieces on Pinterest.

On the left I used oil pastels. The middle was made using charcoal. The right used pencils. All three are shaded and are in black and white. This contributes to the mood of the piece. The space is represented through both the shading and contrast between light and dark. This week I learned a lot about shading and I think this piece really shows that. I'm really proud of this piece and think it turned out well.
